Chocolate covered pretzels are one of my weaknesses. Whoever it was that thought to combine salty goodness and chocolate, is a genius.
A friend brought over some goodies to make some of these wonders at home (which surprisingly, I have never done thanks to the Bulk Barn) and we took 15 minutes out of our day to make some for a get together we had over the weekend.
All you need is:
- Chocolate to melt (I prefer milk chocolate)
- Pretzels (duh)
- A bowl
- Tongs (or a fork) to pick up the pretzels
- A cookie sheet lined with wax paper
To start, break the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a bowl. Heat in the microwave in small intervals allowing it to melt (We learned this the hard way when long intervals in the microwave led to cooking of the chocolate).
Next, throw some pretzels into your bowl of chocolate and mix them around.
I like it when my friends do all the work (This is Kurtis by the way).
When the pretzels are sufficiently covered in chocolate, use tongs to remove them and place them on wax paper.
Now it's time for the fun part!
Put as many sprinkles as you'd like on the still-wet pretzels and then pop them in the refrigerator for a few hours to cool and harden.
So simple, so yummy.
